RESPEC<\/strong> is seeking a highly experienced System Administrator<\/strong> to support a federal client. This critical role involves maintaining and optimizing mission-critical Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems<\/strong> and the supporting infrastructure within a highly regulated, security-first environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Full-time, Paid, Remote<\/strong> position, though occasional client travel may be required. While the job is remote-first, it is posted for Albuquerque, NM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Core Responsibilities: EHR Systems and Data Center Operations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This administrator will serve as a subject matter expert, handling complex problems independently and mentoring junior staff, with a strong focus on compliance and enterprise virtualization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • OS & Enterprise Management:<\/strong> Administer Microsoft and Linux<\/strong> operating systems and Microsoft enterprise management products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • EHR Infrastructure:<\/strong> Plan, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and cloud infrastructure for EHR systems and applications<\/strong>. Experience with federal EHR platforms (e.g., IHS RPMS, VA VistA, DoD CHCS) is preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Virtualization & Data Center:<\/strong> Administer and maintain VMware environments<\/strong>. Manage backup and recovery operations for the Data Operations Center (DOC)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security & Compliance:<\/strong> Enforce security programs, policies, and procedures to protect system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Familiarity with HIPAA, FISMA, and NIST 800-53<\/strong> standards is essential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Optimization & Automation:<\/strong> Perform system patching, performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization. Develop automation and scripts using PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, C#<\/strong>, or similar languages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Physical Security:<\/strong> Implement and maintain physical security controls and tools<\/strong> for enterprise data centers. Utilize DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools<\/strong> and enterprise monitoring systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support & Mentorship:<\/strong> Provide Tier II\/III technical support<\/strong> and serve as a subject matter expert, mentoring lower-tier staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The role requires extensive experience in IT, specifically within secure, government-adjacent data center environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Experience (Minimum):<\/strong> 5+ years of IT experience<\/strong>, including 3+ years supporting server\/data center environments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Federal Requirement:<\/strong> Experience supporting federal government IT systems<\/strong>; eligibility for federal suitability clearance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Core Skills:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration<\/strong> and Microsoft enterprise management tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Proficiency in VMware administration<\/strong> and virtualization best practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Hands-on experience with backup\/recovery, patch management, performance tuning, and capacity planning<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Strong background in security and compliance in federal environments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ability to produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Education:<\/strong> Associate degree, technical institute certificate, or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
