Ulteig<\/strong>, through its Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department, is seeking an OT Network & Systems Administrator III<\/strong>. This senior-level role is responsible for designing, programming, testing, and troubleshooting network equipment and servers that support Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)<\/strong> and data historization systems in the renewable power and water industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Full-time, Remote<\/strong> position in the US, with occasional travel (less than 15%) to local panel shops and remote work sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Core Responsibilities: OT Network Design and SCADA Integration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This Administrator serves as a technical leader, managing both the network and server components within the Operational Technology (OT) environment while mentoring junior staff and supporting client engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • OT Network Design:<\/strong> Design and make recommendations for network infrastructure. This involves:\n
      \n
    • Creating Layer 1, 2, and 3 drawings<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      to depict the network. * Creating IP address spreadsheets<\/strong> and defining firewall rules<\/strong> for secure communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Network Configuration & Field Support:<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • Configure, test, and troubleshoot network equipment (switches, firewalls, VPNs) using secure best practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Configure firewalls to allow only desired traffic (common vendors: Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Configure network switches (Cisco, SEL, Antaira<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Server & SCADA Administration:<\/strong>\n
            \n
          • Configure client servers, including Windows and Linux<\/strong> operating systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Installation of SCADA applications (Ignition and others)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Installation of historian databases (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, MariaDB<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Configuration of Virtual Machines (VMs)<\/strong> and Network Attached Storage (NAS)<\/strong> or recovery solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Quality & Leadership:<\/strong> Take ownership of quality control, participate in QC checks and FATs<\/strong> (Factory Acceptance Tests), and mentor<\/strong> less experienced engineers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
            \n\n\n\n

            Required Experience and Industrial\/OT Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            This role demands a blend of traditional network administration skills with specialized knowledge of industrial protocols and secure control environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            • Experience & Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant technical field preferred<\/strong>, or equivalent experience combined with professional network certifications (CCNP, Palo Alto PCNA, etc.)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Network Expertise:<\/strong> Solid understanding of the OSI model<\/strong>. Hands-on experience with design, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of network environments (routers, firewalls, switching, wireless<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Server\/Virtualization:<\/strong> Proficient understanding of setting up or overseeing physical or virtual servers, with a preference for Hyper Converged Solutions<\/strong> or VMware VSAN<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Preferred Industrial Knowledge:<\/strong>\n
                \n
              • Understanding and experience with NERC CIP standards<\/strong> (a huge plus).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Experience working in the electric utility or industrial network environments<\/strong> with exposure to SCADA devices or protective relays<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (DNP\/Modbus\/IEC61850<\/strong>) and physical mediums (RS232, fiber, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Tools Exposure (Preferred):<\/strong> Experience with Wireshark, Linux, Cisco CLI, VMware, Visio, PuTTY, SolarWinds<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
