Crown Castle<\/strong>, a leader in shared communications infrastructure, is seeking a System Administrator II, Netcool<\/strong> (P2) to support its Tower monitoring system. This role is pivotal in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of the IBM Netcool Suite<\/strong> deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Full-time, Remote<\/strong> position in the United States, with an expected salary range of $74,100 \u2013 $101,900 annually<\/strong>. Travel up to 20% may be required for on-site collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Core Responsibilities and Netcool Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This Administrator will lead efforts in the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the entire Netcool Suite, ensuring seamless operational visibility and compliance across the monitoring infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Netcool Administration:<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • Administer and maintain IBM\u2019s Netcool Suite<\/strong>, including Object Servers, Gateways, Probes<\/strong> (SNMP, Syslog, TL1, etc.), and WebGUI\/DASH<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Netcool Impact policies<\/strong> for event enrichment, correlation, and automation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Import SNMP MIBs<\/strong> and develop probe rules<\/strong> in accordance with the Netcool Common Knowledge Library (CKL).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Create and manage WebGUI filters, views, and dashboards<\/strong> to enhance operational visibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Maintenance & Security:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Implement software updates and new releases during scheduled change windows, adhering to change management protocols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Perform regular patching and system refreshes<\/strong> to maintain performance and security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Manage user access, permissions, and security controls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures<\/strong> and conduct system audits for compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Support & Collaboration:<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • Monitor and resolve support tickets; troubleshoot application and system issues to identify root causes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Oversee DNS configurations<\/strong> relevant to Netcool operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors; provide user training and ongoing support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Support capacity planning<\/strong> by analyzing system usage trends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          The role requires a minimum of three years of direct Netcool administration experience and proficiency in the underlying operating system and networking protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Experience (Minimum):<\/strong> 5+ years<\/strong> of professional technical experience, with 3+ years of experience in Netcool administration<\/strong> specifically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Netcool Tools:<\/strong> Experience with WebGUI\/DASH<\/strong>, including dashboard and filter creation. Familiarity with Impact Policies<\/strong> (preferred).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Operating System:<\/strong> Proficiency in Linux system administration<\/strong> (RedHat\/CentOS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Networking & Protocols:<\/strong> Solid understanding of network protocols, SNMP, JSON, and API integration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Monitoring Skills:<\/strong> Experience writing probe rules<\/strong> and managing monitoring configurations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
