Prowess Consulting<\/strong>, a firm specializing in helping large technology enterprises define, manage, benchmark, and market their solutions, is seeking a junior System Administrator\/System Engineer\/Test Engineer<\/strong>. This role is focused on the technical execution of benchmarking and stress testing for server infrastructure hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Part-time, Hourly, Temporary, Remote<\/strong> role (must reside in one of the 20 specified U.S. states) with an hourly pay range of $45.00 \u2013 $60.00 per hour<\/strong>, DOE. Collaboration within the Pacific Time Zone is essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Role and Technical Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will be involved in research, testing, development, and writing that supports hardware benchmarking efforts. The position requires skills in computing, storage, and networking, with an emphasis on scripting and analyzing test results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Core Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Benchmarking & Testing:<\/strong> Run publicly available hardware benchmarks<\/strong> and track results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Stress Testing:<\/strong> Run provided Python\/PowerShell\/Bash\/Shell scripts<\/strong> or interactive steps to stress test server infrastructure hardware<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Documentation & Analysis:<\/strong> Take clear notes and write concise technical documentation<\/strong>. Analyze\/interpret test results<\/strong> and provide recommendations to improve testing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research & Development:<\/strong> Research, test, and develop content in support of benchmarking and testing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required and Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge in systems administration, cloud, and scripting, and is ready for a hands-on technical testing role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Associate degree<\/strong> in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or related).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • 2+ years\u2019 experience or working knowledge<\/strong> of administering AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • 2+ years of working knowledge<\/strong> with scripting languages<\/strong> such as Python and Batch\/Shell scripts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone<\/strong> hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Nice to Have (Preferred Skills):<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • Experience with both Windows environment (2+ years)<\/strong> and Linux Administration (2+ years)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Experience configuring enterprise storage (1+ year)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Experience with building sandbox and lab environments (2+ years)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Experience with consumer hardware benchmarking and testing (1+ year)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Familiarity with: Kubernetes, AI\/ML workloads, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Virtualization<\/strong> (Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV), Nginx, and Redis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
