This internal-facing role is the frontline defense for securing the organization’s cloud environment, ensuring resilience and compliance with frameworks like SOC 2 and NIST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Job Summary and Security Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Cloud Security Administrator is responsible for managing identity, access, and security policies across the cloud infrastructure, data, and applications, with a heavy emphasis on the Azure\/Microsoft ecosystem. This role requires continuous monitoring, proactive configuration hardening, incident response, and strong collaboration with IT and DevOps teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essential Functions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Security Controls & Compliance:<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • Implement and enforce security baselines and encryption standards<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Align cloud configurations with major compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP<\/strong>) to meet regulatory requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Monitoring & Incident Response:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Continuously monitor cloud environments using tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud<\/strong> and SIEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents, coordinating remediation and performing post-incident analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Configuration Hardening:<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • Ensure all cloud components (VMs, containers, networks, storage<\/strong>) are configured securely following best practices (e.g., firewalls, patch management, network segmentation).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Regularly audit and harden<\/strong> cloud configurations, addressing vulnerabilities promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Data Protection:<\/strong>\n
            \n
          • Manage and implement data protection measures, including backup\/recovery, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies<\/strong>, and encryption<\/strong> for data at rest and in transit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Enforce data retention and access controls to protect sensitive information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Automation & Policy Enforcement:<\/strong>\n
              \n
            • Utilize automation tools and scripts to enforce security policies and perform compliance checks (e.g., Azure Policy or CI\/CD integrations<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Develop and maintain security playbooks and automated responses<\/strong> for common cloud security events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Position Requirements and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              The successful candidate must have significant hands-on experience with Microsoft’s cloud security tools, identity management, and compliance frameworks, backed by substantial IT and security experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Experience (Mandatory):<\/strong>\n
                  \n
                • Bachelor\u2019s degree plus 5+ years of progressive IT or information security experience<\/strong> (with at least 2 years in a cloud security administration<\/strong> or similar role).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Strong hands-on experience with cloud security tools and platforms<\/strong> (especially Microsoft Defender suite<\/strong> and Azure security services<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Solid knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD) administration<\/strong>, including IAM, RBAC, Conditional Access policies, and privilege management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Cloud & Compliance Proficiency:<\/strong>\n
                    \n
                  • Familiarity with securing cloud infrastructure in Azure or similar cloud environments<\/strong> (VMs, containers, storage, networks, Key Vault<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Experience securing Microsoft 365 services<\/strong> (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and Power Platform components.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Working knowledge of industry security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF\/800-171, CIS<\/strong>) and their application in cloud environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Experience with SIEM\/SOAR tools (Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent)<\/strong> and incident response processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Certifications:<\/strong> Relevant security certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, CCSP, CISSP, or similar<\/strong>) are a plus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Travel:<\/strong> Up to 5% travel<\/strong> may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
