Mark43<\/strong>, a company focused on empowering first responders with powerful, scalable software to improve public safety, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer<\/strong>. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the platform’s infrastructure is fault-tolerant, fully automated, secure, and compliant with applicable regulations, as their systems are mission-critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Full-Time, Remote<\/strong> position, with hiring approved across numerous US states, the UK, and Canada. Visa sponsorship is not available<\/strong> for this role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and Infrastructure Automation Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will be expected to rise to the challenge of managing infrastructure where “people\u2019s lives quite literally hang in the balance” if systems fail. This involves driving GitOps<\/strong> and Infrastructure as Code<\/strong> efforts and refining the platform’s observability<\/strong> and monitoring capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What You’ll Work On:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Cloud Infrastructure:<\/strong> Managing Mark43’s cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Automation:<\/strong> Driving GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform<\/strong>) efforts to incorporate best practices into cloud infrastructure management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • CI\/CD & Deployment:<\/strong> Creating and maintaining Pipeline as Code<\/strong> systems that build, configure, deploy, and test applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • System Reliability:<\/strong> Ensuring the platform is scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Observability:<\/strong> Innovating and refining the observability and monitoring<\/strong> of the platform to ensure consistently high quality of service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • On-Call:<\/strong> Participating in a 24\/7 shared on-call rotation<\/strong> to provide infrastructure support and troubleshooting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Tooling:<\/strong> Using tools like Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and Grafana<\/strong> to manage deployments and integrate reliable monitoring\/alerting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate has a strong background in platform engineering, CI\/CD, and container orchestration, with experience supporting mission-critical environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Experience (Mandatory):<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • 5+ years<\/strong> of industry experience in a DevOps\/Platform\/SRE role<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience working in AWS and\/or Azure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)<\/strong> technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience with containerization (Docker)<\/strong> and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience building and maintaining codified CI\/CD pipelines<\/strong> to build, package, and deploy applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience working with and integrating leading monitoring and observability tools, including effective and proactive alerting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Understanding of Security & Compliance<\/strong> best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Mission:<\/strong> Building socially responsible, mission-critical software for law enforcement and first responders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
