Claritas Rx<\/strong>, a venture-backed digital health startup focused on specialty biopharmaceutical products, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer<\/strong>.<\/sup> This role’s primary mission is to design, build, and maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure<\/strong> to ensure reliable delivery pipelines and strong system reliability.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a full-time<\/strong> position with a salary range of $125,000 – $140,000 \/ year<\/strong>.<\/sup> While the company is based in Washington, D.C., candidates must be based in or able to work standard business hours in the Pacific Time zone (PST)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and AWS Automation Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will serve as the AWS expert, working closely with engineering, analytics, and product teams. The role requires deep expertise in infrastructure automation and supporting high-scale production workloads, ideally within a SaaS, healthcare, or life sciences environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Infrastructure Management:<\/strong> Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure<\/strong>, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Automation (IaC):<\/strong> Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC)<\/strong> and automation pipelines using tools like Ansible, CDK, and AWS CodePipelines<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • AWS Services Optimization:<\/strong> Manage, monitor, and optimize a comprehensive suite of AWS services across compute, data, security, and messaging:\n
      \n
    • Compute & Networking:<\/strong> EC2, ECS, ECR, VPC, ELB, Route 53, VPN.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Data Services:<\/strong> RDS, DynamoDB, DMS, S3, Glue, Athena.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Security & Compliance:<\/strong> IAM Identity Center, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudTrail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Observability & Response:<\/strong> Ensure proactive monitoring and incident response using tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • CI\/CD & Security:<\/strong> Support CI\/CD pipelines (Github, Bitbucket, AWS pipelines<\/strong>) and enforce security best practices (MFA, secure file transfer solutions).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Data Pipelines:<\/strong> Manage data and analytics pipeline tools like Airflow and Tableau<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The ideal candidate has significant hands-on experience across the core AWS ecosystem, specializing in automation, containerization, and security best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Experience (Required):<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • 5+ years of experience<\/strong> in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or systems engineering, supporting production workloads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Proven track record of automating infrastructure and deployments using tools such as Ansible, CDK, Terraform\/CloudFormation<\/strong>, or CodePipeline\/CodeBuild.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Core Technical Stack:<\/strong>\n
            \n
          • Strong hands-on expertise with common AWS services<\/strong> (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, ECS\/ECR, Lambda, Secrets Manager, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Skilled in containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Experienced in monitoring, observability, and incident response with CloudWatch, Splunk<\/strong>, and related tooling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Familiarity with data and analytics ecosystems<\/strong> (Glue, Athena, Tableau, RDS, DMS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Solid understanding of security, compliance, and identity management<\/strong> (WAF, MFA, IAM Identity Center).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Strong background in networking, DNS, and VPNs<\/strong> (including Route 53 management).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
