ClickHouse<\/strong>, a leader in open-source column-oriented database systems (OLAP), is hiring a Kubernetes Operator Engineer<\/strong> to evolve the core component of ClickHouse Cloud. This operator manages thousands of databases across multiple clouds and regions, handling critical functions like provisioning, configuration, backups, and upgrades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a full-time, remote<\/strong> position in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and Core Platform Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You will play a key role in designing and implementing new features for the ClickHouse operator, a critical component responsible for managing their massive-scale distributed database environment. This role involves deep technical work within Kubernetes to ensure the operator remains robust, testable, and scalable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Operator Development:<\/strong> Work deep inside Kubernetes<\/strong> to design and develop new features and improvements for the ClickHouse operator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Feature Integration:<\/strong> Collaborate closely with the autoscaling team and the core team to ensure new features are integrated seamlessly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Cross-Team Support:<\/strong> Educate and support other teams so they can confidently contribute to the operator codebase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Production Support:<\/strong> Be part of the on-call rotation<\/strong> to investigate and resolve issues in the ClickHouse Cloud production environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate is an experienced software developer specializing in scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems, with mandatory experience in the Go language and Kubernetes Operator development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Experience (Required):<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • 5+ years<\/strong> of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Software development experience in Go<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience developing Kubernetes operators<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience leading and shipping large-scale technical projects in collaboration with multiple engineers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Strong problem solver<\/strong> with solid production debugging skills<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
