Woolpert<\/strong>, an award-winning global leader in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer<\/strong> to join its dynamic Cloud Solutions and Interdisciplinary Services (CSIS) team. This role is focused on the successful design and delivery of client projects, with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud (GCP)<\/strong> technologies and DevOps practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a full-time, client-facing, remote<\/strong> position in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and GCP Implementation Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, this engineer will provide technical leadership, collaborate on client discovery, and perform hands-on delivery and testing within an agile\/scrum environment. A key function is researching rapidly evolving GCP and DevOps technologies to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Client Engagement & Discovery:<\/strong> Perform client and project discovery to understand business and technical requirements, including architecture and security reviews of existing systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Infrastructure Design:<\/strong> Design cloud infrastructure<\/strong> to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and secure cloud solutions<\/strong>, primarily using Google Cloud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):<\/strong> Write code<\/strong> to implement and test infrastructure using IaC for repeatable, cloud-based projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Automation:<\/strong> Develop CI\/CD pipelines<\/strong> to automate deploying both software and infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):<\/strong> Implement Site Reliability Engineering practices and processes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security & Compliance:<\/strong> Ensure systems are meeting required security guidelines and frameworks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaboration:<\/strong> Work closely with the Cloud Solutions Architect, Technical Project Manager, and client engineering teams to drive successful project delivery in an agile\/scrum environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate is a highly experienced cloud or systems engineer with proven proficiency in Google Cloud infrastructure, containerization, and multiple programming\/scripting languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Experience (Required):<\/strong> 8+ years of experience<\/strong> in a cloud or systems engineering role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Google Cloud Proficiency:<\/strong> Demonstrated proficiency in designing and deploying cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud<\/strong> (compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring\/operations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Containerization:<\/strong> Demonstrated proficiency in deploying container-based applications<\/strong> (Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Fargate).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):<\/strong> Demonstrated proficiency in at least one IaC language (Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CDK<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Programming\/Scripting:<\/strong> Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (GO, Bash, Python, NodeJS\/ES6, etc.<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Methodologies:<\/strong> Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile software development methodologies<\/strong> and tools (e.g., Git, Jira).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Soft Skills:<\/strong> Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for client-facing work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Preferred Skills (Bonus Points):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      • Google Cloud Platform professional certifications.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Multi-cloud deployment migration experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
