Ditto<\/strong>, a fast-growing, globally distributed startup that provides a peer-to-peer sync engine for resilient, real-time data at the edge, is seeking a Platform Engineer<\/strong> to own and architect their CI\/CD infrastructure.<\/sup> This role is highly strategic, giving the engineer end-to-end ownership<\/strong> of the critical deployment platform used by every engineer at Ditto.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a full-time, remote<\/strong> position in the United States.<\/sup> The base salary range is $169,176 \u2013 $300,000 USD<\/strong>.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and Deployment Architecture Mandate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This Platform Engineer will define how Ditto ships software at scale, balancing rapid velocity with safety and reliability<\/strong>. You will build the systems that enforce quality and enable effortless, confident deployments across a microservices architecture.<\/sup> This is a chance to directly multiply the productivity of the entire engineering organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Platform Ownership & Architecture:<\/strong> Own the architecture and evolution of Ditto’s entire CI\/CD platform<\/strong>, spanning from code commit to production deployment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Quality & Safety Enforcement:<\/strong> Design and build automated quality enforcement systems<\/strong>, including code coverage analysis, security vulnerability scanning, and compliance tracking infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Deployment Safety Mechanisms:<\/strong> Create advanced deployment safety mechanisms, such as automated validation pipelines, progressive rollout frameworks<\/strong>, and intelligent automatic rollback systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Optimization & Standards:<\/strong> Optimize deployment pipeline infrastructure to enable rapid, confident releases<\/strong>. Establish the technical vision and standards for deployment safety, quality automation, and production risk management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Developer Experience:<\/strong> Partner with engineering teams to understand pain points and evolve the platform based on real developer needs, focusing on developer experience and pragmatism.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Mindset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned platform engineer who views CI\/CD as a cohesive system and possesses strong systems thinking, experience in production environments, and the ability to influence without formal authority.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Experience (Required):<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Deep experience building and scaling CI\/CD infrastructure, deployment pipelines, or developer platform tooling<\/strong> in production environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Strong systems thinking<\/strong>\u2014thinking-the ability to architect for long-term platform evolution, seeing CI\/CD as a cohesive platform, not disconnected tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Track record of driving adoption through empathy and pragmatism<\/strong> (developer experience focus).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Comfort operating under visibility and production responsibility<\/strong> (deployment infrastructure is mission-critical).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Excellent stakeholder management skills<\/strong> and the ability to influence without authority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • A proactive attitude about how AI can support<\/strong> automation and thoughtful decision-making in the role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Great-to-Haves (Bonus):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        • Experience implementing progressive delivery patterns<\/strong> (canary deployments, feature flags, traffic shaping) at scale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Background in SRE, production operations, or incident management.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Prior work in high-growth or hypergrowth environments.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Familiarity with modern deployment ecosystems (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Harness, or similar<\/strong>) and observability platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
