A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Infrastructure Connectivity Services<\/strong> at Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA Health)<\/strong>, a part of Optum that redefines specialty care across a network of ambulatory surgical centers, physician clinics, and labs. This role is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, operations, and continuous evolution of all connectivity infrastructure across the enterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a full-time<\/strong> position in the United States. The salary range is $145,000.00\/Yr. – $160,000.00\/Yr.<\/strong>, plus a comprehensive benefits package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Summary and Hybrid\/Multi-Cloud Network Mandate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the company’s network, with an emphasis on hybrid and multi-cloud networking strategies<\/strong>, particularly within Microsoft Azure and AWS<\/strong>. The role involves managing a team of engineers and administrators and partnering with security, cloud, and application teams to ensure secure, resilient, and high-performance infrastructure, especially for complex workloads including AI\/ML.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Strategic Leadership:<\/strong> Provide strategic and operational leadership across all enterprise connectivity domains\u2014cloud networking, LAN\/WAN, remote access, wireless, and telecommunications.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Hybrid Cloud Architecture:<\/strong> Design and operate hybrid cloud connectivity solutions<\/strong>, especially between on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure<\/strong> (e.g., ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Cloud-Native Design:<\/strong> Develop cloud-native network topologies<\/strong> for resilient and scalable application delivery across Azure (and optionally AWS), including traffic flow, NSGs, ASGs, and UDRs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • AI\/ML Network Optimization:<\/strong> Design and support AI-focused network architectures<\/strong>, optimizing for high-bandwidth and low-latency scenarios<\/strong> such as GPU workloads, inference services, and large dataset transfers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security & Compliance:<\/strong> Lead secure network segmentation strategies<\/strong> supporting regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI<\/strong>) and workload isolation across hybrid environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Automation & DevOps:<\/strong> Lead automation initiatives<\/strong> using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep<\/strong>), SDN, and DevOps practices for network deployment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Operations Excellence:<\/strong> Oversee enterprise routing, switching, firewalling, and performance tuning<\/strong>. Drive operations excellence through monitoring, alerting, and remediation platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • People Management:<\/strong> Mentor and develop high-performing engineering teams with cross-functional cloud networking skillsets. Manage vendor, carrier, and partner engagements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate is a highly experienced infrastructure leader with deep, progressive experience in enterprise networking, advanced expertise in Azure cloud networking, and a background in complex, regulated environments like healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Experience (Required):<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • 12+ years of progressive infrastructure experience<\/strong> with at least 7 years leading enterprise network or cloud connectivity teams.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Demonstrated experience supporting hybrid application environments<\/strong> requiring seamless cloud\/on-premise integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience with enterprise WAN design (e.g., SD-WAN)<\/strong>, inter-site routing, and global load balancing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Cloud Expertise:<\/strong> Advanced expertise in Azure cloud networking<\/strong> (e.g., vNet architecture, ExpressRoute, Private Link, Azure Firewall).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Strategic & Technical Skills:<\/strong> Strong leadership in network operations, automation, performance optimization, and cross-platform troubleshooting. Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Specialized Knowledge:<\/strong> Familiarity with AI\/ML network architecture requirements and performance considerations.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Domain Preference:<\/strong> Experience in healthcare or regulated environments is strongly preferred.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master\u2019s preferred).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
