The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legacy system administration, specializing in HP-UX, with a proactive approach to system integrity, security, and performance. This is a technical, hands-on role with strong security and documentation requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Roles and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • System Management & Maintenance:<\/strong> Administer and manage HP-UX servers<\/strong> and related hardware. Perform regular system updates, patches, and security enhancements<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Performance & Optimization:<\/strong> Monitor system performance and resource utilization. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks<\/strong> and implement best practices for system optimization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security & Compliance:<\/strong> Ensure the security of the HP-UX environment by implementing and maintaining security policies. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments<\/strong> to ensure compliance with industry standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Troubleshooting & Support:<\/strong> Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Provide timely support for system-related incidents, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Data Integrity:<\/strong> Ensure system integrity through regular backups and recovery procedures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Documentation & Guidance:<\/strong> Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • On-Call:<\/strong> Participate in on-call rotations<\/strong> and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
