The Infrastructure Engineer will be at the forefront of tackling challenges related to system scalability, data integrity, and cross-ecosystem interoperability. The contributions will directly impact millions of users by working on systems handling petabytes of data and millions of concurrent connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Massive Scale Infrastructure:<\/strong> Build infrastructure<\/strong> capable of managing metadata for hundreds of billions of files<\/strong>, handling hundreds of petabytes of user data, and facilitating millions of concurrent connections<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Data Fabric Expansion:<\/strong> Lead the expansion of Dropbox’s function as the data fabric<\/b>, connecting hundreds of millions of applications, devices, and services globally, while driving initiatives to enhance interoperability and adaptability<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Performance & Optimization:<\/strong> Measure and optimize Dropbox’s analytics platform<\/strong> to maintain its status as one of the most advanced in the industry for extracting meaningful insights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaboration & Innovation:<\/strong> Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and security<\/strong> of the infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    • Experience:<\/strong> 5+ years of professional software development experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Distributed Systems:<\/strong> Proven track record<\/strong> in constructing and managing expansive, multi-threaded, geographically dispersed backend systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Programming Proficiency:<\/strong> Proficient in programming and debugging across a range of languages such as Python, Go, C\/C++, or Java.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Systems Fundamentals:<\/strong> Proficiency with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Project Delivery:<\/strong> Proven track record of defining & delivering well-scoped milestones\/projects<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Problem Solving:<\/strong> Ability to independently define the right solutions for ambiguous, open-ended problems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
