This is a high-impact, fully remote<\/strong> position in the United States, where the engineer will be a prolific individual contributor, architecting the underlying infrastructure and dynamic data services for the core insurance platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities and Platform Ownership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This engineer will take ownership of infrastructure orchestration, production readiness, and security across the company’s core systems, which are heavily based on Python<\/strong> and AWS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • System Architecture:<\/strong> Evolve the underlying infrastructure architecture to ensure scalability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency<\/strong> for core insurance platforms, making thoughtful trade-offs to meet business and technical goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Infrastructure Orchestration:<\/strong> Build, manage, and optimize infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS)<\/strong>, and core AWS services<\/strong>. Automate provisioning, scaling, and deployment processes to support rapid feature delivery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Production Readiness:<\/strong> Develop and maintain comprehensive observability solutions<\/strong> (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) using tools like Mezmo<\/strong> and Sentry<\/strong> to ensure high uptime. Own and improve CI\/CD pipelines<\/strong> (using GitHub Actions<\/strong> and others).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Platform Security:<\/strong> Implement and maintain best practices for infrastructure security, including IAM, network segmentation, vulnerability scanning<\/strong>, and compliance monitoring, partnering closely with the security team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • On-Call & Troubleshooting:<\/strong> Participate in on-call responsibilities<\/strong> for the uptime and performance of systems and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate has a passion for developer enablement and a strong background in AWS, Kubernetes, and Python development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Cloud Experience:<\/strong> 4+ years<\/strong> of experience with AWS<\/strong> services, including EKS, RDS (PostgreSQL), Lambda, and ElastiCache Redis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Orchestration & IaC:<\/strong> 3+ years<\/strong> of experience with Kubernetes<\/strong> and experience with Terraform and Helm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Programming:<\/strong> 3+ years<\/strong> of experience with Python<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Database:<\/strong> 2+ years<\/strong> of experience with relational databases<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • General Skills:<\/strong> Fluency in automation, comfort digging into application and service code (Python\/TypeScript), and effective communication\/documentation skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Environment:<\/strong> Experience working on a remote team<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
