An opportunity has emerged in our network for a Cloud Engineer<\/strong> at GovCIO<\/strong>, a company transforming government IT, to manage service providers for Army and DoD IT systems. This is a full-time, remote<\/strong> position supporting work located in Radford, VA. The role involves designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This position is PENDING CONTRACT AWARD<\/strong>. The salary range is $125,000.00 to $195,000.00 per year<\/strong>. Candidates must hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance<\/strong> and relevant certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities and Security Focus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Cloud Engineer will be crucial in migrating on-premises applications and implementing robust, secure, and automated infrastructure for defense clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Cloud Architecture & Migration:<\/strong> Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot secure and scalable cloud systems. Proven experience migrating on-premises applications to the cloud<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Automation & IaC:<\/strong> Develop cloud-based applications and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)<\/strong>. The role requires strong knowledge of automation concepts and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Puppet, Chef, etc.<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security Compliance:<\/strong> Implement and maintain systems in accordance with defense security requirements, including working knowledge of DoD STIGs<\/strong> (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and IAVM<\/strong> (IA Vulnerability Management).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Networking & Protocols:<\/strong> Strong experience with IPSEC\/VPN<\/strong> and other secure transport technologies, as well as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • CI\/CD:<\/strong> Utilize Continuous Integration\/Continuous Delivery<\/strong> pipeline experience, such as Jenkins, Travis CI, AWS CodeDeploy<\/strong>, and working knowledge of code repositories like Git<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    This is a mid to senior-level position requiring high-level government clearance and specific technical certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Clearance & Certification (Required):<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • DoD Secret Security Clearance.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • CompTIA Security+<\/strong> (or equivalent IA cert).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Computing environment certification (e.g., MCSD Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect<\/strong>, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience:<\/strong> Mid to senior-level Cloud Engineer experience. High School diploma with 10+ years<\/strong> of relevant or commensurate experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Technical Depth:<\/strong> Expertise with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and GCP<\/strong>). Strong understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
