Veriforce<\/strong> is seeking an experienced, driven DevOps Engineer<\/strong> to join their software development team. This role is a key position, focused on deploying, monitoring, and operating the company’s software across production systems that serve tens of thousands of customers. The work environment is Agile<\/strong>, utilizing modern tools like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible<\/strong>. Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This role requires technical thought leadership and deep, hands-on expertise across the entire DevOps lifecycle, with a focus on automation and system resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):<\/strong> Design, implement, and maintain IaC<\/strong> for development, UAT, and production environments. The ability to leverage AI coding assistance<\/strong> (e.g., Copilot) is a strong plus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Observability & Monitoring:<\/strong> Design, implement, and maintain observability and monitoring solutions<\/strong> and actively monitor system health to maintain up-time and performance SLAs, including participation in an on-call rotation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • CI\/CD & Resiliency:<\/strong> Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) and Delivery (CD) systems<\/strong>. You will advise development teams to increase application resilience, operability, and adherence to best practices, leveraging AI assistance wherever possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Container Orchestration:<\/strong> Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters<\/strong> with advanced configuration and features. This includes managing containerized workloads and deploying application servers hosting APIs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Distributed Messaging:<\/strong> Design, implement, and maintain Kafka clusters<\/strong>, including disaster recovery mechanisms and advanced configuration for demanding and variable loads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Thought Leadership:<\/strong> Provide technical thought leadership in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering to identify points of failure and recommend\/implement solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Required Experience and Technical Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant DevOps experience in a SaaS environment and expertise in a wide array of cloud-native and distributed systems technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Experience:<\/strong> 3+ years<\/strong> of relevant experience in DevOps in a SaaS environment<\/strong>. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Core Expertise:<\/strong> Expertise in cloud platforms, primarily AWS<\/strong>, and distributed systems<\/strong> (load balancing, data storage, distributed messaging, distributed databases).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • AWS PaaS Tools:<\/strong> Expertise with a wide range of AWS services: ECS, EKS, EC2, VPC, ELBs, S3, WAF, SNS, SQS, SES, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFront<\/strong>, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Automation & CI\/CD:<\/strong> Expertise in SCM tools<\/strong> like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet<\/strong>, and automated deployment methodologies that support CI\/CD\/CM<\/strong> using Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Advanced Kubernetes & Kafka:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Experience configuring and administering Kubernetes clusters<\/strong> using advanced features (non-standard networking, storage classes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Experience configuring and administering Kafka clusters<\/strong> (disaster recovery, data loss prevention, topic configuration).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Technical Knowledge:<\/strong> Prior professional application development experience (especially SaaS\/web dev), knowledge of IP networking (TCP, UDP, SSL)<\/strong>, and knowledge of software engineering and design principles<\/strong> (design patterns, architectural patterns, CAP Theorem, event-driven architecture).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Security Focus:<\/strong> Must be security-minded at all levels<\/strong> and adhere to the principle of least privilege<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
