An opportunity has come through our network for a Senior Software Engineer<\/strong> to join a client in the TMT (Technology, Media, Telecom)<\/strong> sector. This is a 12-month contract-to-hire position with a hybrid work schedule in Houston, TX, requiring onsite presence from Tuesday to Thursday. This role focuses on full-stack development with a strong emphasis on the back end. You will be responsible for designing and implementing features from start to finish, using Angular<\/strong> for the front end and AWS Lambda-based services<\/strong> for the back end. You will play a critical role in architecting and optimizing data flows between key AWS<\/strong> services, including Amazon Neptune, S3<\/strong>, and Lambda. Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Full-Stack Development Leadership<\/strong>: You will lead the design and implementation of full-stack features, ensuring seamless integration between the front and back ends.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • API Development<\/strong>: You will develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs<\/strong> to serve data from the Amazon Neptune graph database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)<\/strong>: You will write Terraform<\/strong> or AWS CDK\/CloudFormation<\/strong> templates to ensure repeatable and efficient deployments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaboration and Mentorship<\/strong>: You will collaborate closely with solution architects, data engineers, and DevOps teams. You will also mentor junior developers and contribute to key technical decisions for the overall stack.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Code Quality and Performance<\/strong>: You will define and enforce best practices for code quality, performance, and security in a cloud-native environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting<\/strong>: You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize serverless workflows and database performance to ensure system reliability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Essential Qualifications and Candidate Profile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of professional software development experience<\/strong>, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead role<\/strong>. You must be a skilled full-stack developer with deep expertise in the required technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Essential Qualifications include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Angular Proficiency<\/strong>: Strong proficiency in Angular<\/strong> (preferably version 12+) for building enterprise-grade web applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • AWS Serverless<\/strong>: Proven hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon Neptune<\/strong>, and integrating these services into a serverless architecture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Backend Expertise<\/strong>: Solid skills with Node.js or Python<\/strong> for backend Lambda development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • API and Security<\/strong>: Experience designing and consuming REST<\/strong> and\/or GraphQL<\/strong> APIs, along with strong knowledge of AWS IAM, API Gateway<\/strong>, and related AWS security practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • IaC Experience<\/strong>: Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code<\/strong> tools like Terraform<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Architectural Knowledge<\/strong>: A solid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and cloud scalability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Soft Skills<\/strong>: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Preferred qualifications<\/strong> include knowledge of graph database query languages such as Gremlin or SPARQL, experience with AWS monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and X-Ray, and familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
